Human capital and endogenous growth in a neokeynesian macroeconomic model
Abstract.
The purpose of this article is to introduce an endogenous determination of human capital accumulation similar to
that used in endogenous growth model in an otherwise neokeynesian macro model. Contrary to the results of
traditional neokeynesian model, we show that education expenditures, in changing the accumulation path of human
capital, may have positive effects on the long run rate of growth and on the long run level of production. A
policy favouring human capital accumulation may thus have both short-run and long-run positive effects on the
rate of unemployment.
