Abstract. We study models for adoption of standards by n people on a set S = {1, 2, ..., n} ; each choice depends on the individual's location on S, following a "local rule", so that these choices appear to be spatially correlated. We study some models of standards' adoption with or without spatial correlation, and set out tests for absence of spatial coordination.
